Montebello Community

Montebello is an interesting community that opened in 1997 outside of Greenville, South Carolina.

Based on New Urbanism principles, Montebello strives to create a community where the people living there can get to know one another and take opportunities to spend time outside in communal spaces.

The architecture of the Montebello community is inspired by the Tuscan hills of Italy, and visiting the community is like stepping into another time.

The Blue Ridge Mountains, and the Greenville, SC skyline in the distance will remind you where you are though, as both are only a short drive away.

Amenities include, four clay tennis courts with lights, kayaking and canoeing in Lake Como (the community’s lake) and a Tuscan style clubhouse with a caterer’s kitchen.

Montebello has undeveloped homesites, single family homes, town homes, and condos available for purchase.

Greenville, Spartanburg, and the I-85 corridor they are located in are booming, and living in Montebello is a good way to enjoy the excitement, with some old world charm thrown in.
