Savannah Lakes Village Community
Lake Thurmond, named after the famous South Carolina Senator, sits on the border of South Carolina and Georgia.
At 70,000 acres, Lake Thurmond is one of the largest lakes in South Carolina.
Sitting in between two of the branches of the lake, on both sides of highway 378 outside of McCormick, South Carolina, is the community known as Savannah Lakes Village.
Set in and surrounded by the 600,000 acres of the Sumter National Forest, Savannah Lakes Village is in an incredible setting.
Encompassing 4,000 acres, Savannah Lakes is not a small community, and offers plenty of amenities.
There are two, 18-hole golf courses with practice facilities, instruction, and tournaments; four, lighted tennis courts; and indoor and outdoor pools.
The 4,300 homeowners in Savannah Lakes Village have organized 80 different clubs to join, from yoga to crafts, aerobics, ping-pong and more.
The community allows vacationers to visit, and has set up a resort at the marina, with an 80 room lodge and two bedroom townhouses to rent.
This is especially useful if you’re having company visit, who desires a bit of independence and autonomy.
If you are a young family with children, or people who just enjoy a good time, you will love the 23,000 square foot activities center.
In the activities center you will find pools, a bowling alley, bocce ball courts, shuffleboard courts, a mini-golf course, and a grill/deli.
If you’re in the mood for more of a meal, you can head to one of the two clubhouses for a fine dining experience.
Visiting Savannah Lakes Village in South Carolina is a great way to find out if it’s a community you’d like to live in, and you can start by visiting www.savannahlakesvillage.net.
