Wilmington Video Transcript
Today we are visiting the charming port city of historic Wilmington North Carolina.
Wilmington is located in the southeastern corner of North Carolina where the residents have the advantage of living between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean.
The area offers its historic downtown as a main tourist attraction and business center being just minutes away from nearby beaches like Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach and Kure Beach.
The beaches contrast with each other, from quiet residential neighborhoods, to lively areas of sailors and surfers, to completely undeveloped barrier islands.
Wilmington has become a popular destination for relocation due to its moderate, four season climate and grown into and now prospers as the third most active film location behind Los Angeles and New York.
New Developments of luxury homes such as this one at Kure Beach are evidence of Wilmington’s growth and growing popularity.
Just outside Wilmington’s city center are beautifully restored neighborhoods with the true flavor of the south. Complete with tree lined boulevards and old homes rich with history making Wilmington one of the most beautiful small cities in the south.
Historic downtown offers a 230 block streetscape of restaurants, outdoor cafes, coffee shops, banks, retail stores and residences all framed against the backdrop of the Cape Fear River.
Once known for shipping, Wilmington used to be called the port of progress and pleasure. Visitors and residents alike gravitate to the mile long boardwalk on the banks of the Cape Fear river known as the Riverwalk for a stroll at dawn or dusk. Located in the heart of Historic Downtown take a ferry ride to the Battleship North Carolina, and go below deck on the WW 2 ship to visit the old bakery, chapel and sleeping quarters or in the spring on Friday evenings, enjoy classic movies shown under the stars next to the fighter planes and huge guns.
The up and coming sophistication and diversity of Wilmington, with its laid back nature of the beaches and growing communities deserve a spot on your relocation radar.
