With Interstates 20, 26 and 77 surrounding the city, it also has great accessibility to the rest of the state.

Driving to the beaches outside Charleston SC takes about two hours on I-26, access to the mountain regions starts around Greenville SC, which is about an hour and forty minutes from Columbia. Charlotte NC, and Augusta, GA are both about an hour and a half away.
