Cheraw, South Carolina
Cheraw South Carolina is located fifteen minutes south of the North Carolina border, in the northeast corner of the state.
Cheraw is on the National Register of Historic Places and benefits from three hundred years of architectural beauty.
The small downtown is full of antique shops, boutiques, museums, historical markers and individualized restaurants. Around the town, the country side is covered by farms, manufacturing sites and public parks.
Although Cheraw is one of South Carolina's oldest towns, it has retained its charm without lapsing into decay. The downtown has been beautifully maintained, delighting visitors and making residents proud to call Cheraw home.
Cheraw has a population of 5,386 people and is located in Chesterfield County South Carolina, which has a total population of 43,251 people.
Routes 1, 9, 52, and 109 all meet in Cheraw SC. By using these roads, many of North Carolina and South Carolina's cities are within reach.
Columbia, SC and Myrtle Beach SC, and Charlotte NC are all approximately two hours away. The neighboring town of Bennettsville SC is about twenty-five minutes southeast on Route 9, and Florence SC is the nearest city, at an hour away.
