Batesburg-Leesville South Carolina is a small suburban community outside of the Columbia metro area with a population of about 5,653 people in the city, and 9,000 people in the immediate area.

Batesburg-Leesville is located in Lexington County South Carolina, which has a total population of 255,607 people, and is surrounded by many rural areas.

Lexington County has over 700 working farms, but don't let that fool you into thinking that Batesburg-Leesville SC is stuck in the past.

Lexington County is one of the fastest growing counties in South Carolina as are the counties surrounding Batesburg-Leesville which makes it one of my picks for the list of best places  in South Carolina to relocate or retire. This growth is a testament to the many interesting small towns in the area, each with their own flavor and specialties.

Starting from Batesburg-Leesville, there are many other places to visit. An hour to the north is the cultural center of Newberry SC, forty minutes to the south, you have the equestrian capital of Aiken SC and the beautiful city of Augusta, Georgia only a few miles further down the road.

Heading forty-five minutes east, you'll run into Columbia SC, the state capital with great business, entertainment, cultural and athletic options available.

Getting around town and to these other cities is no problem as Batesburg-Leesville is located right off I-20 and has South Carolina Route 178 and Route 1 running through town.
