Gaffney has a population of 13,126 people and is located in Cherokee County, which has a total population of 54,714 people.

Located in the northwestern part of South Carolina,Gaffney is near the North Carolina border, in the green rolling foothills of the Appalachian and Blue Ridge Mountains.

Gaffney, SC is also located in the middle of two major metropolitan areas, a half an hour to the west is Spartanburg SC, and an hour to the west is Greenville SC, and an hour east is the Charlotte NC area.
