Comments on Fayetteville, North Carolina
Imagine my surprise when I was reading your information about Fayetteville, NC. I was shocked to find it listed as being in the Piedmont. We are deep in the Sandhills and if not that we are between the sandhills and the coast. This has never been classified as the Piedmont. I would love to see what your rationale is on this.
Hi Linda,
We did a great deal of research on drawing the boundary lines
for the different areas and found a great deal of variation not only
on where the line is drawn, but what the area is called.
We have Fayetteville in the Coastal area on our map.
The line could be moved further east to include it in the Piedmont,
or what others have called the Heartlands.
We were also trying to standardize the terminology between North and
South Carolina to make it easier for people to remember and understand.
