Last week we began our journey in Myrtle Beach SC which is the largest and most developed area in the Grand Strand beaches.

Myrtle Beach SC sits just about in the center of the South Carolina Grand Strand.

We learned a lot about Myrtle Beach SC last week but as I’ve continued to explore there are still more things I want you to know about the Myrtle Beach area.

I know you are saying Bob, I thought we were talking about the South Carolina Grand Strand however…

remember Myrtle Beach is the largest city in the Grand Strand and wherever you decide your best place to live is, you’ll always be no more than a short 30 minute drive away.

National Geographic recognized the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk as the nation’s #3 boardwalk.  And Travel+Leisure magazine said it was one of the best US boardwalks.


And seriously Myrtle Beach SC has over 1,900 restaurants.  Are you kidding me?  Seafood lovers delight in the wide assortment of daily fresh options available.

The South Carolina Grand Strand is also home to 100 championship golf courses! Tee time anyone? And if Golf is not your thing, maybe you’d enjoy a match at the various tennis courts.

If you want a break from the sun and fun of sitting at the beach,  spend the day at one of the many outlet malls and specialty shops. Or perhaps a movie at the IMAX theater.

For music lovers you’ll find a  live musical theatre The Carolina Opry.

And there is certainly no shortage of family attractions to keep you busy along the South Carolina Grand Strand.  Myrtle Waves is one of the largest water parks on the eastern coastline.

If you like to toss the dice or sit for hours at the “one armed bandit” you’ll be happy to know this bit of information.

Gambling is not legal in South Carolina.  However, choosing Myrtle Beach and the South Carolina Grand Strand as your best place to live has advantages.   You will have easy access to gambling.
