Where People Found Their Best Places In The Carolinas
Today I'm letting you look over my shoulder and read some of the many emails I get about where people have found their best place to relocate or retire to, in North Carolina and South Carolina.
So many people are looking for their best place to relocate or retire to the Carolinas, whether it be South Carolina or North Carolina. I thought it would be helpful if I shared what others have found.
Here are some emails from our members…
Hi Bob,
We've been following your Blog since deciding to move from the Wilmington, NC area a little over two years ago. We just moved to Anderson, SC three weeks ago and absolutely love it!
We have three kids (ages 6, 4, & 2) and the amount of cheap/free activities for families here is amazing. We are in an apartment for about 6 months while we are house hunting.
But, from what we've seen so far, the amount of affordable housing here is definitely more abundant than Wilmington. Anyway, I just wanted to share a little of our experience so far for any one looking for a great family-oriented area of the Carolinas.
Take Care
Bob,
I have been receiving your updates for the last 2 years. After a lot of looking in the areas you suggested, we purchased a home in Reidsville, just north of Greensboro, NC.
Can't wait to get there – it is our dream home and only cost 4 million less than a comparable property here in CT! Also (not that I can afford a 4.5 million dollar home) the taxes were – are you ready for this $2200 a year vs $43,000 on a similar property up north.
You do get a lot of bang for your buck in the Carolinas. We have room for our horses, room for my grandkids, room for guests and all at a price that seems almost impossible to obtain anywhere else.
Thanks for your help and suggestions – they really helped and made a difference.
Regards
Bob,
I really like your website and just wanted you to know that even though we live in the Orlando, Fl. area, I agree with you about Anderson, SC. I was born there and spent my younger years there–it is truly a charming, friendly Southern "secret".
Hey Bob,
Just moved to Brunswick Forest from New Jersey, love it! Just trying to settle in and find the right job now. Love your blog!
Thanks Bob,
Dear Bob
I have used your critique of the Carolinas and at this point my wife and I have plans to move to Summerville, SC to be near our son and our 4 grandchildren.
I plan to go to Culinary School and study baking at 66 years of age. Your information has been invaluable.
Thank you.
