Expert Advice On How To Successfully Relocate Or Retire To Your Best Place
Recently, I had the pleasure to interview Ron Manheimer.
Ron is not only a founding member of the nationally recognized North Carolina Center for Creative Retirement in Asheville, NC but was its Executive Director for 21 years, from 1988 to 2009.
He has a great understanding of the issues involved with the relocation and retirement process, and the stresses involved with making such a decision.
Ron has even begun his own consulting firm, the Manheimer Group at www.ronmanheimer.com, to consult with communities and organizations about the retirement process.
Among the many topics I discussed with Ron were the 5 Key Considerations retirees should take into account when planning to relocate; the Common Mistakes, or as Ron states, “learning opportunities” that arise when retirees decide to relocate; creating a "Soft Landng" to life in a new community; Developing Criteria for finding a new community; Stress Solutions to use when relocating; and the 9 Steps of retirement planning.
By clicking on the link below, you can listen to the advice of this longtime resident of the Carolinas, and internationally recognized expert on retirees, and the relocation and retirement process.
I know it will help you be successful in finding your best place to retire or relocate to in the Carolinas, with a lot less stress!

Bob,
My wife and i (and 02 kids / 04 & 02) have made the decision to relocate from Houston to North Carolina to start a "new life". Our dream is to have acreage where we can build our home, have a couple of horses and have the kids outside enjoying nature. Work is not a problme, as I am flexible. Our idea is to rent a place in Asheville, NC to get to know the city and become familiar with its infra-structure while we look for a property in the next 06 months or so. Do you have a neighborhood (s) in Asheville you woudl recommend to live for 06 months?
Thank you,
Gustavo

Hi Gustavo,
If you want to be right in Asheville, there are rental units downtown
If you want to be 15 minutes outside Asheville, try Weaverville, Leicester,
Candler and Arden.
Also go to our Video Library and watch the video on Asheville,
and read my Blog post of 10/2/09.
Good Luck,
Bob
