How To Find The Best Small Towns In North Carolina

Today I'm writing about those special little places that have great lifestyles at affordable prices known as "Small Towns". And of course, they make it onto my list of the best places to live in North Carolina.
The North Carolina Main Street Center helps small towns recognize and preserve their historic fabric and create vibrant "main street" central business districts.
There are two programs. The Main Street program focuses on communities having under 50,000 people that employ a downtown manager, and the Small Town Main Street program which focuses on towns that have under 7,500 people that do not have a downtown manager.
I've been to most of the small towns in North Carolina that are part of these programs and they include some of the best places to live in North Carolina.

If you're looking for a quaint, charming, historic Small Town to relocate or retire to in North Carolina that have vibrant Main Streets, friendly residents, and a strong sense of community, then look for towns that are part of these Main Street programs.
